Q: Are there other dogs to play with?

A: Absolutely. There are always friends to play with all day long. They do not have to spend most of their visiting time sitting in a cage. They go back home very tired except for those visitors that we need to limit the play per owners instructions.

Q: Do all the dogs eat together?

A: Yes, but each of them are separated so that there are no fights over food. And they all stay on their own food and treats from home.

Q: Will my dog be left outside alone?

A: Never. No dog is ever left outside without supervision. If and when we need to do an errand they are all put inside and separated for their safety.

Q: Where do they sleep at night?

A: Pretty much any where they want to inside the house. We test each dog to see where they feel comfortable and safe as each dog has their own personality and issues. Most all dogs want to be close to the Alpha which is in the master bedroom but some like to be under furniture, burrow under a blanket, be with the pack or be alone. Owners will sometimes request that we keep the same, “in the crate”, routine as they do at home but it is our wish to keep them out of crates as much as possible.

Q: Are there unknown people helping to care for the dogs?

A: No. You don’t have to worry about strange people coming in or people who don’t know what they are doing. It is all under the excellent control of one person. When potential clients come over for an interview the dogs are either put away or behind gates so there is no chance of them slipping out.

Q: Other times I’ve boarded my dog got sick; can this happen at Hoffman Hound Care?

A: This can happen from a boarding facility feeding generic food and it can happen from stress. We keep them on their own food. We keep dishes, any crates, bedding, carpets, floors and throw rugs clean. The noise is kept low to create a calm environment. Shots are always required. Messes are cleaned up immediately and any small sign of a possible illness has to get Vet approval that it is not going to get any other dog sick.
